Our Programs
Calgary Quest School
Calgary Quest School offers specialized educational programming for students with moderate to severe developmental disabilities, from elementary through high school. Our classrooms are intentionally small, ensuring personalized support and strong relationships. Each class is led by a full-time certified teacher and supported by skilled instructional assistants, ensuring a low student-to -teacher ratio. Each classroom is supported by our multidisciplinary therapy team, including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, music therapists, and behavior strategists.
Classrooms are organized based on students’ abilities and support needs, rather than age alone, allowing us to create the most effective learning environment for each group. Regardless of age or grade level, every class focuses on key learning domains: communication, fine motor skills, self-help, life skills, and social-emotional learning. Programming in each of these areas is thoughtfully adapted to meet the individual needs of every student and classroom.
Our high school program provides continued skill-building in these same domains, with additional opportunities for independence and transition planning. Students in our high school program have the opportunity to graduate with a Certificate of Completion, recognizing their progress and achievements throughout their time at Calgary Quest.
Centre For Opportunity
At Quest’s Centre for Opportunity, we believe that every young adult has a unique journey toward independence. We serve participants aged 18–28 with cross- disabilities, empowering every individual by tailoring our thoughtfully designed programs to their unique strengths, interests, and aspirations. Delivered in a group learning environment, our program focuses on life skills development, personalized learning, and meaningful community engagement experiences, equipping participants to confidently navigate their transition into adulthood.
The Centre for Opportunity features two main Learning Hubs: Maple Room and Willow Room. These Learning Hubs provide participants with structured group programs tailored to meet their developmental needs while supporting their journey toward greater independence and meaningful community engagement.
Quest Adventure Camp
Quest Adventure Camp is an inclusive summer day camp designed for children and teens with developmental disabilities, ages 6 to 19. Our camp provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where campers of all abilities can connect, explore, and grow through fun, meaningful experiences.
Each week features a new theme filled with creative activities, outdoor adventures, and opportunities for building social and life skills. Older campers (ages 10–19) also have access to specialized life-skills programming designed to support greater independence.
Campers are grouped by age and support needs, with a low camper-to-staff ratio to ensure everyone receives the guidance and encouragement they need. Whether it’s a themed dress-up day, a sensory-friendly activity, or a skill-building challenge, Quest Adventure Camp is all about making summer fun, accessible, and enriching for every participant.
Care & Recreation
Our Before & After Care program provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children and young adults with developmental disabilities outside of regular school hours. Available to Quest School students, Centre for Opportunity participants, and students with disabilities from other schools, this program is designed to offer structured yet flexible care that meets the needs of each individual.
Participants take part in a variety of fun and meaningful activities—both indoors and outdoors—that promote independence, creativity, social skills, and self-regulation. Whether it’s free play, sensory exploration, or arts and crafts, our team creates a welcoming space where every individual can thrive.
In addition to before- and after-school hours, full-day care is available on most school holidays, providing families with consistent, reliable support year-round
